A Senior Independence Program, in Partnership with The Jewish Family Service of Orange County, Our Doors Are Open to the Entire Community
The Town of Warwick values our neighbors over the age of 60. At times older adults in our community may be isolated, separated from their families, experiencing a temporary or permanent disability, or just need help. Simple gestures empower older neighbors to maintain independence and remain connected to their community.
The Town of Warwick is committed to supporting residents and helping them remain in their homes by matching local volunteers with seniors that need support.
Our Volunteers Make a Difference by Providing:

- Transportation to local scheduled medical and essential appointments
- Food Security by shopping for or with a neighbor
- Valuable social in-home visits with a neighbor
- Check in and wellness phone calls
Volunteers of ALL AGES are needed - Make an impact on the life of a neighbor

- Volunteering is flexible – Volunteer a few minutes to a few hours a week
- Volunteers are trained and background checks are provided free of charge
- Volunteers are insured while volunteering
- Volunteers over 55 are eligible for mileage reimbursement

Volunteer in as little as 30 minutes. Opportunities available NOW in Warwick and all over Orange County. Attend a Volunteer Training and complete an application!
Pre-registration is required.
This training will prepare you to provide support to older adults in your own community for as little as 30 minutes. Our volunteers provide local transportation to essential appointments, assistance with grocery shopping, telephone wellness calls and friendly visits, and quick fixes in our neighbor’s homes. Volunteering is rewarding and flexible for volunteers of all ages! Reservations are required. Background check and insurance while volunteering is provided. The JFS of Orange County Friendly Visitor program partners with the town of Newburgh and Office for the Aging to support neighbors in Orange County. This program is made possible by a grant from Jewish Federation of Orange County.
