The Warwick Town Court is located in the Town Hall and is an important adjunct to the governmental services provided to Town Residents. The Town Court has broad criminal and civil jurisdiction ranging from the arraignment and initial hearings on felony level criminal cases, to the adjudication of both penal law and vehicle and traffic crimes, violations and offenses, domestic violence cases and issuance of temporary and continuing orders of protection, civil proceedings, landlord/tenant matters, Town Code violations, environmental conservation cases and animal cruelty issues, among others.
The Town Court is open each workday from 8:30 am until 4 pm and can be accessed through the general Town Hall telephone number. Court sessions are held every Tuesday and the 3rd Wednesday of every month during the evenings. Preliminary hearings, jury and non-jury trials, small claims proceedings are conducted at separate dates and times. Questions concerning traffic tickets, the scheduling, or adjournment of cases, or other court related issues can be addressed by contacting the court Clerk.
